So by now you must be wondering what to do
when the weather isn’t cooperating and the sun isn’t always shining!
I’m a little biased, but I can’t think of any better answer then to
visit a La Crosse County Library location in Bangor, Campbell, Holmen,
Onalaska or West Salem for a change of pace! Granted, it’s not how
you might spend a typical spring day, but since it’s often too wet to
tackle yard work and you probably still have your jacket close at
hand, you’ll at least have a change of scenery at the Library!
Even if you’ve got your own laptop with
Internet capability, leave your home office and roam into Holmen,
Onalaska and West Salem and pick up our wireless access! Find a
lounge chair or a study table and work on that upcoming deadline
without starring at the same four walls all the time! Maybe the
distraction will be what you need to overcome a creative block!
If you’ve got kids climbing the wall trying to
find something to do between rain showers, we can sure find something
to keep them busy! If they’re not quite ready to be in the summer
reading mode then they might find some interest in our music
collections or audio formats. If you’re tired of seeing them plopped
in front of the TV, drop by and find them an audio book to pump
through their headphones! Before long they’ll have a “book” completed
and maybe they’ll be hooked for more!
Many of our locations have great lounge areas
for kids to curl up and escape in a great book! Check-out our floor
lizard in Holmen or the great double chair in West Salem and it won’t
be long before you forget about the wet, cool spring!
If you really want some change in scenery, sit
down at our Onalaska location for a bit! With construction underway
on about 7,500 more square feet, there is always something new to look
at these days!

WELCOME TO THE LA CROSSE COUNTY WEBSITE
|
|
The La Crosse County Library staff offers an enthusiastic
invitation to you to help us know how to meet your needs.
According to one recent survey, 66% of adult Americans use a library at least
once per year for leisure, reference or self-improvement. School assignments,
hobbies and programs attract a large percentage of children and young adults. Be
sure to inquire about our program calendar and events.
In La Crosse County there are five libraries located in Bangor, Campbell (French
Island), Holmen, Onalaska, and West Salem which are supported by people who live
outside the city of La Crosse.
I invite you to familiarize yourself with the materials you may borrow including
new best sellers, magazines, videos & DVDs, music CDs, computer software
packages, Family Fun Bags and puppets. We hope, too, that you will utilize
information resources including newspapers and public Internet access. Our staff
is always available to assist you with any of our resources.
On behalf of the La Crosse County Library we sincerely hope that you will take
advantage of all the materials and services that will be useful to you.
Sincerely,

Chris McArdle Rojo

if nothing else we can sure find you a great picture and description
